Meet Millie was greeted with mixed reviews. "Oh, no, not another Maisie," groaned Radio Life. The series seemed to ape too many dumb-dame forerunners, with "intermittent outcroppings of (My Friend) Irma and perhaps a smattering of Joan Davis's wisecracking without Joan's basic wit." Millie's romance with Johnny Boone, her boss's son, was promoted by her mother and disdained by Boone Sr. The characters migrated to CBS-TV in October 1952. Audrey Totter's film studio refused permission for the TV show, and Totter resigned from the radio series as well. With Elena Verdugo as Millie, the radio show ended and the TV version ran until March 1956. _{John Dunning}
